My Bio
Thank you for taking a look at my page! I’m sure that this is not your first stop in your efforts to make changes in your life, and if we end up working together, I’m looking forward to finding out how I can best support you in that journey.
I am a white, temporarily able-bodied, cis-gender, queer man who grew up on Connecticut and graduated from Ithaca college before moving out west. I’ve been practicing therapy since attending Lewis & Clark Graduate School from 2017 to 2020. My top priority in the therapy room is fostering an environment where my clients feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves. In our sessions we will discuss many challenging topics and experiences in need of processing, but we will also build a close personal connection and hold space for every aspect of your identity.
Therapy in this space look very different depending on your needs. We can spend our time helping you to build emotional or relational skills, reflecting on possible life changes, processing traumatic experiences, or simply building a better understanding of yourself and the world you grew up in.
Primarily, I like to operate from a lens of Parts Psychology while integrating Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with a social justice and anti-oppressive lens. In addition to graduate school, I’ve completed trainings in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR, and Internal Family Systems Theory. I also enjoy incorporating techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, as well as skills around grounding & mindfulness.
Outside of counseling, most of my time is spent enjoying the outdoors or tucked on the couch with my partner and our 3-year-old goldendoodle. I love taking trips to the coast & along the gorge, cooking & exploring new recipes, playing videogames, watching shows, or getting together with some close friends.
