Do you thrive from empathic listening and creative suggestions? Do you want more integration between your mind, body, and perhaps spirit? Do you thirst to question, explore, and grow? If your answer to any of these questions is “yes,” then we might be a good fit.
I am a strength-based therapist, which means that I’ll strive to help you identify, access, and develop your own abilities and wisdom. If you want to think out of the box, then I’m with you all the way. Together we can create a ‘theory of change’ just for you. You’ll have good opportunities to build new skills in our work together; I love learning and sharing that learning.
Perhaps we’ll work somatically, drawing on and cultivating your body’s innate knowledge. Perhaps we’ll work with nonviolent communication, helping you decipher the language of your feelings and needs. We may draw on dream work, mindfulness, polyvagal theory, HeartMath, ACT, TRE, solution focused therapy, or clinical hypnosis. Or a combination that’s right for you.
I’m Australian, child of immigrants and an immigrant myself. I am non-binary and evolving toward a femme identity. I fiercely value race, gender, sexual, ability, and class justice; therapy is a political act and I’ll always be down to support you in rewriting the scripts of oppression that you may find woven through your story.
I moved to the United States in 2011. Since then, I’ve worked in inpatient substance use treatment, inpatient mental health, partial hospital/intensive outpatient mental health, and multidisciplinary pain treatment. I cherish the many moments of suffering, exploration, clarity, and empowerment that clients and patients have shared with me.
I hold a master’s degree in social work from PSU, a BA (philosophy and psychology double major) from the University of Sydney, and a jumble of post-graduate diplomas in psychotherapy and psychology. I am a certified TRE provider. I am a board member of the Oregon Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
I love music, words, the wilds, art, meditation, and frankly, anything magical. I strive to grow and fully become myself, and I’d be honored to support you in doing the same.
