My Bio
Hello and welcome! As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, calm, and grounding place to help you tell your story. I believe strongly in working from a strengths-based and anti-oppressive lens, and strive to meet each client with respect and dignity. I consider it an honor to hold space for you, and to walk alongside you on your journey to healing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has worked for years in the domestic violence and sexual assault community. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages, and helping families heal after abuse and trauma. I also enjoy working with parents and expecting parents to help their children heal, and learning to parent after experiencing abuse, trauma, and childhood abuse. I am currently working on a certification as Perinatal Mental Health provider, and have worked on processing traumatic pregnancy experiences with clients.
My approach comes from an Attachment, Psychodynamic, and Somatic lens. I lean toward somatic approaches in therapy and believe in working with trauma from a “bottom-up” approach, where we begin our work together working on grounding to help you feel safe in your body and in the world. I have specialized in working with survivors of trauma who have difficulty feeling connected with their bodies.
My approaches to therapy also include EMDR, Mindfulness, Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I have a certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have focused on trauma throughout my career.
I enjoy working with mindfulness techniques, along with meditation and yoga. I am a Certified 100-hour Meditation Teacher, and a RYT 200 registered yoga teacher, with special training in trauma informed yoga. I love working techniques from yoga and meditation into therapy!
I have a Bachelors of Arts degree in English from University of Oregon, and a Master of Social Work from Portland State University. I am also a clinical supervisor at ITTC supporting clinicians and student interns.
I am a lifelong Oregonian, and in my spare time I love exploring nature all over the pacific northwest, camping and hiking, running, and crafts.
