Body & Movement Groups

A majority of our body and movement groups are created and implemented in a closed session format that lasts on average 4-8 weeks. This helps with building group cohesion, establishing group norms and creating safety.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Demographic: Adults and teens welcome. This class will be suitable to beginners and those new to yoga. Modifications will be offered, however if you have any serious injuries, please consult with your medical provider first.

Description:
A gentle yoga class focused on poses for relieving symptoms of PTSD, calming the nervous system, and relaxation. Class will include aspects of breathing, restorative yoga, yin yoga, gentle flows, and guided meditation. Participants are encouraged to go at their own pace, spend some time quieting the mind, and take some time for yourself! Each class will begin with a breathing exercise, a gentle flow or yoga poses, and end with a guided meditation.

Description:
Meditation can be a powerful tool for finding peace and connection in the mind and body. However it is very common for those who have experienced trauma to have difficulty with the process. This class with offer a safe space to slowly introduce the concepts and practice of meditation. Using principles of Yoga Nidra, I-Rest for PTSD, and trauma sensitive mindfulness, this class will introduce aspects of meditation and mindfulness, finding ways to stay grounded and regulated, and practice guided meditation. Beginners welcomed and encouraged!
