My Bio

Becoming a therapist has been a choice to truly delve into the most fascinating study of human behavior. I believe that true change can only come from the feeling of being seen and heard in a relational way. Throughout my career I have been lucky to have great mentors whom guided me through a trauma informed lens. Being taught through a trauma informed lens was a paradigm shift in how I view myself, others, and the world around me. Understanding how we adapt and learn to survive around our wounds is not only a sign of resiliency and strength, but encompasses our greatest capacity for healing. On a personal and professional level, my belief system in the power of relationship is the very foundation I work in with clients. Healing happens within the relationship, and without a feeling of being truly seen, no other work can take hold.

I am trained in understanding how to look into relational and developmental trauma, and how this influences how we relate to those in our adult lives. I am certified through EMDRIA and the Personal Transformation Institute in Somatic and Attachment EMDR. My therapeutic modality first and foremost is a relational and humanistic approach promoting emotional safety and building internal resources and strength. Without a feeling of emotional safety within the therapeutic relationship, no other work will take hold. Entering into therapy takes a brave first step and a leap of faith to trust another person to witness one’s deepest fears and perceived failings. I understand the need to have a felt sense of belonging and safety. You are not a diagnosis or your history. I do not view others through identifying what is wrong, but rather I believe we collect adaptations through our environment and caregiving system, and adapting accordingly. Let’s work together and celebrate what is going right, your strengths, and how to heal past attachment wounds. We have innate ability to heal, to thrive, and to live fully and authentically, despite our history. Healing takes time, patience, and a committed desire to overcome limiting internal beliefs. I am honored and humbled to walk this journey with you, alongside you, not as an expert, but as a witness and gentle guide through the dark and towards the light of your true self.
