Currently Taking New Clients
Our work together may include the use of traditional talk therapy, interpersonal connection, present-moment experience, mindfulness, experiential and body-oriented approaches, studying thoughts and impulses, exploring dreams, spirituality and existential experience, along with health and lifestyle concerns. I approach counseling from a holistic, client-centered and depth orientation that encourages personal growth, transformation, and self-empowerment. My intention is to invite the whole person to come forward, even those parts we have strong aversions to within ourselves. I offer ways to explore the self with curiosity and compassion, assisting clients in developing more acceptance of themselves. I find that we can be so critical or have resistance to certain parts of ourselves, and that aspects of ourselves feel rejected. It can be very powerful to give all parts of ourselves space to have an expression and to listen to our internal needs and desires. Ultimately I believe that you, the client, know what you need and have all of the answers within you. Sometimes having a guide or witness allows for more of you to be revealed and taking this space for yourself is a real gift, we will listen together and hear what is most important for you, to find the growth or change you are seeking.
My clinical approach is greatly informed through my trainings at the M.E.T.A. (Mindful Experiential Therapy Approaches) Training Center in Hakomi, Attachment, and Recreation of the Self. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Professional Mental Health and Addictions with a focus in Eating Disorders and Somatic Psychology. I have also studied with the Process Work Institute, which is based in Jungian dreaming process, body symptoms, shamanistic and spiritual exploration, and experiential approaches. I have been working in the healing arts and wellness field for over 12 years. I started with Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Then, became a licensed massage therapist and Reiki II practitioner; I received my massage training at the Nevada School of Massage Therapy and graduated in August of 2005. In addition, I am a certified holistic health coach and I trained through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York.
Please note that I am currently supervised by Antonia Mueller, LPC and Brittany Boney, LMFT.
