My Bio

William Blake wrote, “Man has no Body distinct from his Soul; for that called Body is a portion of Soul discerned by the five Senses.” In this quote, Blake “invites us to think about the soul in a different way, as something to be discovered through touch,” according to psychotherapist Thomas Moore.

This is how I approach massage therapy—as an invitation to reconnect with deeper parts of ourselves through the sense of touch. My goal is to create a safe space for you to re-experience touch in a positive and loving way. I provide massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, and Reiki to adults and adolescents. I am also available to teach infant massage to parents and other caregivers.

I have been a massage therapist and Reiki Master for 11 years. I completed my initial massage training in Northern Virginia, where I practiced in many different settings. I served as an instructor in the massage therapy programs at both Northern Virginia Community College and Centura College before relocating to Portland in 2009. After moving to Oregon, I began to assume management positions within the massage profession, recruiting and training other massage therapists.

In addition to my education and training in massage therapy, I have a master’s degree in health promotion, where I focused my research on massage and mindfulness practices to bring comfort to the dying homeless in Washington, DC. I have also completed coursework for a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and am completing my thesis on how massage can help us heal from trauma, in particular traumas involving the harmful or exploitative touch of others.

When I am not working, I can typically be found in the yoga studio. I currently practice Hatha and restorative forms of yoga, but my real yoga love is Kundalini. I was first introduced to Kundalini Yoga in 1999 and completed the level 1 Teacher Training in Herndon, VA in 2008.

I am excited to be part of the Integrative Trauma Treatment Center. My current availability is on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday. Although tipping is customary in a spa setting, in this setting, it is not necessary. The best ways to show your appreciation for our work together are to schedule another appointment and to tell your family and friends about me. I love having repeat clients and referrals!
